Advanced Material Search

Background
1. The current material search can only filter by the lot information, as a result, it would be a difficult task if the user want to further driven down to the order and style level. In certain circumstance, it is not easy to search for the relevant materials. In case the only information user own is the specific season of a particular material, and the user need to search for that material, it is relatively complex to apply the case with existing searching method.
2. There is only one directory in the system and the information can not be display on multi-level. For instance the material record is filter by different criteria respectively, and user can only view the ultimate search result in the enquiry directory. To a certain extend, the flexibility is low and it is not user-friendly.

Case Solution:
The search can be filter by material, lot, order category etc. One of the rapid changes is that the user can keep track the search based on the fundamental data, for example, user can search from foundation, such as filter by order, followed by filter by lot inorder to continue the material search, and the result of that material lot number will be shown. The advantage of the advanced material search is that the user can get the extract information in a timely manner. The session of the search condition will be stored and it is flexible for the user to trace back.

Design Solution:
In order to provide a better solution on searching the material information and the relevant information, such as the allocation, lot number has also been developed the material tracking enquiry. The main feature of this is the user can trace the materials in different levels, and the result will be display in multi-window.

The default window is divided into different tab, user can click the resize button or select the windows button, besides, the window arrangement method can also be changed. Refer to the image below, the window directory will only display the two most recent windows, the remaining windows will be minimized and display on the top left hand corner of the directory.

① Search Criteria, in addition, the “item” will only be shown once the WMS module is being applied. The major characteristic is the field contains the barcode information.
② The arrangement of the window and the display control
③ Minimize the window directory, all minimized windows will be displayed in here and user can retrieve it by double click, or directly drag it.
④ Window display directory, user can trace the material information or keep track the other relevant information according to the enquiry result, such as Lot No, Order Allocation etc.

 Filter by Material
Order: Enquiry all the material used in this order
Lot No.: Enquiry existing material in this Lot No.
Items: Enquiry the item, storage location and balance in WMS
For the “Only selected color/ size” stand for the specific color and size condition of the searching item.
 Filter by Lo Number
Allocation: Enquiry the existing Lot No. is allocated to which order
Item: Enquiry the item, storage location and balance in WMS
Material: Enquiry the material balance
 Filter by Order
Allocated Lot: Select the Lot No. allocated to order.
Requirement: Select the material requirement in order
Group: View the Program or Customer by” Allocated Lot” or “Requirement”
For the same Program or Customer may have identical material requirement, this function key is designed to facilitate the filtering of the material information of a specific Program or Customer.
 Filter by Item
Lot: Enquiry the balance of that material.
